New Super Mario Bros. Wii Mini Run – 7-4

We’re chugging along at full speed ahead on this run…up next in the Cloud Castle Courtyard is 7-4, which is very much like an extension of 7-1–colorful and full of movement. There is one other gimmick, one you see first. That would be the Wii Remote tilt-controlled platforms. You bonk an item box to take control of the platform, then tilt the Wii Remote left or right to make it go left or right. The deal is that you can’t control the platform when it’s moving–it will take you from one end of the rail to another without stopping in between. More on that later. Whereas 7-1 is about candy-colored floating rectangular platforms that spin around, 7-4 is about candy-colored Warp Pipes that go up and down. There are lots of gaps that Mario can accidentally fall to, but what really spices things up are the Bullet Bill Blasters, which move up and down as well. Plus a Banzai Bill Blaster, just because they can. As you see, this stage switches between gimmicks. It begins with the platform on rails, then the bobbing Warp Pipes, then a tougher platform on rails section, then a tougher bobbing Warp Pipes section. The designers must have been brimming with all sorts of cool ideas if, by this point in the game, they’re cramming multiple gimmicks onto a stage! You’ll see more multiple-gimmick stages later on too. I get all three Star Coins here, as it’s pretty easy with Mini Mario. Now, you may be wondering why I was waiting at 1:36. That’s because I wanted to see the Koopa Troopas

Building A Motorcycle Lift Table

This a short video of a bike lift table I made a few years ago. I’m getting too old to crawl around on my knees when working on my bikes. I had an old truck liftgate 12 VDC power unit I saved from the scrap pile, bought some rectangular tubing, flat bar, and various odds & ends, and fired up the welder and went at it. It doesn’t show it in this video, but I had to add another cylinder to get it to lift my heavy old Honda Goldwing up, but now it works very well. It’s nice to be able to lift thing up to a comfortable height!
